Don’t go setting fires,
when there’s nothing to burn
If these scars are lessons,
flesh stripped to bone.
Yet I stand so focused,
only not in my head
unfixed but certain,
all yesterdays dead
We are broken twigs in the dark
Sparks fly
We stand hypnotised
The flames that flared round our eyes
Blind us
Darkness magnified
I can’t dignify
Or excuse our actions
Played so many games
Waiting for reaction
From the smallest spark
Flames embrace sensation
Are these my thoughts?
Words have limitations
We are broken twigs in the dark
Sparks fly
We stand hypnotised
The flames that flared round our eyes
Blind us
Darkness magnified
The stars are whole,
My freedom stolen,
And they’re welcome to my soul,

Our father
Did you make it to heaven.
Some, might have your name.
But you fucked,
then left,
then never said.
How many got the same?
A pathetic denial,
You screwed up my head
A child can’t understand or hear what you said
The tears, the dreams... they've dried up and gone
I don’t care if you’re sorry! The harm, it’s all done.
So Father
Your kingdom’s gone
With only moments saved
A deep regret and loneliness
Can you feel it from your grave.
I'm not looking for apologies
The only question in my mind is why?
Why the denial?
Justify the denial!
My father

I've never feared those demon's wings
They've always been familiar things
The only thing I've ever feared
Is when those Angels get too near
The first angel, lying on the ground said you’re heading straight to oblivion.
And an angel’s kiss given to steal his curse, just thrown away.
When the second angel clawed out of his skin, singing take care of yourself and take of your kin. And an Angels kiss given to save his soul. Just thrown away.
I've never feared those demon's wings

the only thing I've ever feared
Is when those Angels get too near
Angel number three stole across his course, crying - in your veins the poisons flow.
And an angels kiss to heal the damage done, Just thrown away.
The fourth and final Angel from the earth he rose. ‘Here’s a man we lay to rest, God bless his soul’. His sins won’t die - and an angels kiss just thrown away.
Stripped and torn. Just thrown away.
A chance to rest just thrown away.
